About the
Pit Popper™ FAQS
How does it work?
Just twist the Pit Popper™ clockwise, like a doorknob,
into the stem end of a ripe peach or nectarine until you
feel the pit spin free a bit. Then pull the Pit Popper™ straight
out. To release the pit just pull back on the edges while
pushing against the top center with your thumbs. This will
spread the pit remover enough to release the pit.
Does the Pit Popper™ work
on all peaches and nectarines?
While there are always exceptions, Pit Popper™ is
designed for use on soft, RIPE fruit whether semi-clingstone
or freestone. It will even remove the core from soft pear
varieties as well – go from the bottom end and it
leaves a great unruffled pear for poaching and baking!!
If your fruit is cracking excessively when
you try it … Sorry,
the fruit is not ripe enough yet.
How do you ripen stone fruit and
pears?
If you have firm fruit that needs to be ripened, you can
ripen it by placing the fruit in a paper bag for a couple
days. Keep the bag closed, away from the hot sun, and
at room temperature (about 70-80 degrees) for a couple
of days. Check for ripeness with a gentle squeeze using
the palm of your hand – not those fingertips please
- and use your nose to check for a sweet aroma to know
when the fruit is ready. Then, open the bag. Grab a piece
of ripe fruit, remove the pit with your Pit Popper™,
slice and enjoy the great juicy, freshness of summer
fruit.
How do you clean the Pit
Popper™?
For easy clean-up wash and rinse the Pit
Popper™ and let it air dry!
